Good morning. In Sumatra, a mother orangutan and her baby crossed a rope bridge over a busy road, a simple fix that’s helping wildlife stay safe.

In London, two marathon runners finished in under two hours for the first time in an official race, showing just how far determination can take you.

And two friends drove a famously unreliable car across Africa, proving that sometimes the best adventures come from just giving it a try.

Sumatran Orangutan Makes History Crossing Road on Rope Bridge Connecting Wild Habitats

This morning, a small but hopeful milestone comes from the rainforests of Sumatra. For the first time, a wild orangutan has been spotted using a rope bridge to cross a busy road, a gentle reminder that creative solutions can help wildlife and people share the world.

This landmark moment, captured on a camera trap in the Pakpak Bharat district of North Sumatra, is a world first for the species, and, given the incredible social skills and intelligence of these animals, it is predicted to become normal behavior in the future.

Pakpak Bharat is located in a landscape known as West Toba, where a population of 350 wild orangutans tries to maintain their ancestral way of life amid an expanding human population.
