We hope you had a great weekend. Today, we’re celebrating 12-year-old Macy Johnson for running into a burning house to save her brothers.

We’re also remembering Jim Whittaker, the first American to climb Everest, whose adventures often included his twin brother.

And in Switzerland, archaeologists have found Roman chariot pieces at the bottom of a lake, offering a rare look at daily life from 2,000 years ago.

Brave 12-Year-Old Girl Rushes Into Flames to Rescue Her Brothers

Twelve-year-old Macy Johnson is being called a hero in her Georgia community after she rushed into her burning home to save her two older brothers. Arriving home from school to find flames spreading from the garage, Macy didn’t hesitate. She ran to the door, shouting to alert her brothers, one of whom was in the shower and the other asleep above the garage.

Her quick thinking and courage meant that, while the family lost much of their home, they kept what mattered most, each other. Macy’s mother shared how proud she is of her daughter, calling her ā€œan incredible girl.ā€

It’s easy to wonder what any of us would do in a moment like that. Today, Macy’s story is a reminder that bravery can come from the most unexpected places.

Roman Chariot Relics Discovered in 2,000-Year-Old Shipwreck at Bottom of Swiss Lake

A 2,000-year-old shipwreck at the bottom of Lake Neuchâtel in Switzerland just gave up some incredible secrets. Archaeologists pulled up Roman-era pottery, swords, and even pieces of a horse-drawn chariot, all astonishingly well preserved.

The cargo likely belonged to a merchant ship supplying a Roman legion camp. No one knows exactly how it sank, which only adds to the mystery.

If you love a good archaeological puzzle, this is one to check out.

Cycling Lanes and Better Buses: How a Bold Coalition Revamped Manila

For years, Manila’s streets were built for cars, leaving most commuters behind. Then a coalition called Move As One rallied thousands of citizens to push for safer cycling lanes, better buses, and more walkable spaces.

Their persistence paid off. Now, Manila boasts 800 miles of bike lanes, new bus routes, and even car-free zones along the river.

It’s a great reminder of what happens when everyday people get organized and demand a city that works for everyone. Check out the full story for a dose of optimism.
